Anaphylaxis Campaign Film Project

Posted on: August 31, 2014 | Posted in: Latest News

Help the Anaphylaxis Campaign make a short film to save the lives of young adults with severe allergies

20 people a year will die from anaphylaxis

Many of these deaths will be 15 – 25 year olds. We need to create a film that highlights the severity and associated risks of anaphylaxis and the preventable nature of anaphylaxis deaths.

This film will aim to bring awareness of anaphylaxis to the forefront. It will:

  • Demonstrate the seriousness of the condition
  • Persuade young people with anaphylaxis to carry their adrenaline auto-injectors (AAI)
  • Dissuade bullying of those affected
  • Highlight the potentially fatal nature of anaphylaxis
  • Raise awareness among the general public about anaphylaxis
  • De-stigmatise the carrying and usage of AAIs

By giving what you can to this project, you will be supporting a innovative life-saving film. You could even help save a young life.

How you can help

We have been offered an amazing opportunity to work with industry leaders to create this short film. This would normally have associated costs of nearly  £180,000, but thanks to the generosity of those involved the cost to us has been reduced to a fraction of the price. We need to raise £30,000 to make it happen.

We are a small charity and a project of this size would not normally be within our reach. We are working hard to secure the funding for this film and are now £20,000 from reaching our goal.

Filming is scheduled to begin on 5th September, so time is very tight! Your contribution will make this happen!

What’s in it for you?

Perks range from your name appearing on our website to a special thank you from the Anaphylaxis Campaign. If you can think of a perk you’d like, let us know, and we’ll see what we can do.

Whether you choose to contribute or not, please share this appeal and help us reach our goal!

Film Project FAQs

Why does the Anaphylaxis Campaign’s short film aim to focus on adolescents?

Although anaphylaxis affects all ages, reaching adolescence can bring new risks and increased threats for affected individuals as they explore new found independence.
