Changes in the EU Food Information Regulations (FIR) 1169/2011 were introduced in 2011, the food service industry was required to be compliant by the 13 December 2014, however there are still many food service businesses who are yet to implement the appropriate policies, procedures or training.

Any establishment serving food to the general masses will need to provide a list of ingredients# for all food stuffs sold packaged or loose highlighting all allergens as listed in Annex II of the EU Regulation 1169/2011.
